Let us know Gaz
Gaz is the traditional name of Persian nougat originating from the city of Esfahan and Boldaji, Iran. The name Gaz is associated with Gaz-Angebin which translates to 'sap of Angebin', in reference to a species of Tamarisk, T. gallica that is native to the Zagros mountain range located to the west of Esfahan and Boldaji. The sweet, milky sap found on the angebin plant is associated with manna, a food mentioned in the religious texts of the Abrahamic religions. Manna, this special and precious substance, is supposed to have many health- benefitting characteristics. Gaz is round, bite-sized and white in colour. It is produced in different forms and shapes from soft and stretchy to crunchy and crisp. Gaz pieces are packed in two different ways; the first way of packaging is wrapping each bite-sized Gaz individually and putting all the wrapped pieces in a box and the second way is putting all the unwrapped pieces in white flour and wholly packed In a box; the former method is called "wrapped piece" and the latter one is called Gaz in flour.
